This is how you deal with prank callers

by Dan Sewinski

If you’ve ever been on the receiving end of a prank telephone call, your reaction probable ranged between mild annoyance and outright terror. Having your life interrupted by a stranger who either wants to make you the butt of joke or openly harass you is certainly no laughing matter, but you might have been afraid to show how upset you were because it would only have egged the caller on to make more calls. There is, however, one way in which you can almost guarantee that your prank caller will never bother you again.

Many prank callers use cell phones with unlisted numbers to protect themselves from discovery, and until very recently, there was no way to trace an unlisted cell phone number.

So, what do you do? Well, these days it’s fairly simple to find out who a cell phone belongs to, even if it’s unlisted. With simple web sites you can find out the owner and a lot of information about them.

For example, at a normal reverse search site, you can enter the cell phone number and in a matter of seconds you will know who the cell phone belongs to. That’s not all though. You can also find out where they live, if they have ever been convicted of a misdemeanor or felony, if they’ve ever been married, where they were born, and even if they have ever gone into bankruptcy.

So, imagine that a prank caller is calling again and you answer the phone. Of course, before they get a chance to start telling lame jokes or breathing hard into the phone, you begin giving them details of their personal life.

Maybe you tell them you know exactly where they were born, even though now they live at a different address. You might tell them their husband or wife’s name, and what they have ever been arrested for. You can just throw in any sort of personal detail at all that you have learned by searching for their cell phone number.

Can you imagine what they would be thinking? Wouldn’t it be great? This is definitely a way that you can stop someone from prank calling you ever again.

But the ability to know who your prank caller is can be critical for another reason. You may be the target of a really dangerous individual who is actually threatening you with violence, but your local law enforcement probably doesn’t have the time or resources to track down anonymous callers.

However, if you have proof that a convicted criminal has been calling your house, you can be sure the cops will get moving to do something about it. If you ever find out that someone dangerous is calling you, do not hesitate to report exactly who it is and demand that something be done about it. You never know what that person’s intentions are. Luckily, you can find out easily through websites like this.
