Sometime ago a real estate tycoon purchased a tiny island off the east coast, intending to develop it into a vacation resort. While surveying the property he decided that the island would be big enough for a small hotel with a golf course. He wanted to add a brick retaining wall to surround the property for privacy and also visual enhancement. A contractor presented the plans when the owner realized he had a big problem that he hadn’t planned for. How would he get all of the building materials from the mainland to the island? This question led to another one, how would he transport the guest to the island as well? His solution was to buy pontoon boats. He would be able to use the pontoons for transporting materials and helping the construction of the island hotel area, later having his staff transport the guest to the island. Solving two problems with one answer.
The following day our man had located a boat dealer in the area and was able to purchase three pontoon boats. A larger, more detailed pontoon boat would be delivered later for the opening of the hotel to transport the guest. The pontoon boats used for construction and transportation were basic models with fourteen feet of open work space, just what was needed to build the planned rock retaining wall. With the pontoons being open this provided a platform area for a stable work area. With the start of construction two weeks later the crew worked quickly and being so efficient was able to complete the work in a timely manner.
When the workers needed to berth in shallow water, they found the pontoons to be especially helpful. Berthing in shallow water could not be done in other type of boats. With the versatility of the pontoons the construction crew were able to mover around the island with much ease and less stress. The contractors could roll out their blue prints right on the deck and work directly from the dock. Never having to be concerned with tipping over or falling into the water the platform was so stable. The pontoon boats made such an impact on the owners of the construction company with the strength and durability of one that they decided to buy a small fleet for themselves for their next marine project.
The completion of the island project was done within the time frame set. Our businessman was so happy and impressed with this crew that he gave them a wonderful bonus, in thanks of a job well done. With the beautiful rock wall surrounding the resort, the owner was pleased with his investment. He was also happy with his pontoon boats. Without them the materials being transported to the island would have been a big headache. This is the time where pontoon boats are being used more for work projects than recreation. It is the best of both worlds, work and recreation. Many uses of pontoons are starting to be noticed by all.
The greatest thing about Crocs is the fact that they come in such a large array of colors and sizes. Whatever your personal style or what you wear there is a Croc shoes out there for you.
However, sometimes the task of choosing only one out of thirty seven colors can seem a bit daunting! Here is a list of some of the best colors to keep in mind with summer just around the corner.
Women will love the color Berry. It can accentuate any article of clothing. It’s fuchsia that just shouts summer romance. Berry is an awesome color for younger girls who are very into fashion and goes with a variety of bottoms, although it looks great with skirts.
If you are going to use this color make sure your shirt is simple. A solid color white and a necklace is probably the best and most flattering top wear with these color Crocs.
Croc shoes in the shade of Light Blue are great for kicking of the early summer months. This shade hints of great things to come, similar to a warm, sunny day in April. It tends to go best with pants in either a dark jean or light khaki shade, but blends well with many different types and colors of tops.
Once the summer really starts to kick in, you can get into a Ruby Red color. This is a great color for outdoor picnics and any outdoor activities. This dark rich color is great for the Fourth of July since it’s such a bright red color.
Men who find themselves frequently at the pool or beach should consider ordering their Croc shoes in the Orange (or, Coral) color. This warm shade is simple and fun, and goes great with many swimsuits and simple t-shirts. Croc shoes in general are perfect for the beach because of their durable soles and enhanced breathability, and the Orange shade is really the cherry on top.
Canvas Patone, or khaki, is the perfect color for boaters. Yacht club members are sure to find this shade particularly desirable, because it gives the wearer an added appearance of sophistication, and the simple shade looks great with polo and even some collared shirts.
Looking for something fun but not too over the top, then you should look into getting Navy colored Crocs. They are a dark blue shoe that adds depth to a huge variety of ensembles that you choose to wear.
I am sure that you will make the right decision in wearing Croc shoes, no matter what color you choose. Just make sure you look through your cloths before deciding so that way you can match a lot of the same stuff you already have.
Reducing the cost of energy is an issue that spans across the globe and is putting pressure on the people in power to, ultimately, stop the production of old-style light bulbs.
Interest in Compact Fluorescent Lamps (CFLs) has dramatically increased recently, even though they have been available for many years.
This is due to the negative aspects of more conventional light bulbs with regards to environmental issues.
Millions have been invested by the big lamp companies into upping the quality and performance of their energy efficient lights.
Newer CFLs have a longer life, are flicker-free, and work more efficiently through a much wider room temperature range.
These energy efficient light bulbs of course work more effectively in every aspect of a light bulb, and are easier on the environment as well.
This type of lamp is now able to be used in nearly any domestic or commercial lighting setting. Alongside all the savings to be made on energy and maintenance, it’s clear to see that energy saving lamps are the future of lighting.
The New York Rangers acquired Blair Betts in the 2005-06 NHL Hockey season and he has been with them, centering on the defensive 4th line. He is one of the New York Rangers most consistent face-off men winning a more than losing them.
The New York Post has hailed Betts and his teammate Frederik Sjostrom as the dynamic duo of penalty kills, with a 87.6% rate on penalty kills. Blair Betts has also been called the leagues’ most underrated player (by The Post, among others).
Having played for the Calgary Flames since 1998, before joining the New York Rangers, this Canadian born ice hockey player weighs 210 pounds at 6 feet 3 inches. His pro career started in 2001 and he has been a consistent defensive center.
The New York Rangers, however, have not done so well. They are going through their highest losing streak, so it may be hard to determine where some of the praise for Blair Betts is translating into winning games for the team.
Blair Betts has been also plagued with injuries, suffering a broken orbital bone around his left eye in May, 2008, and recovering from an upper body injury in December, 2008. Prior to that injury, he had three goals and five points in 28 games this past season. In his fourth season with the New York Rangers, he has missed time with injuries to his knee, foot and face.
Of course, ice hockey in the NHL can be a rough and tumble game and many defensive players can get injured from rough play or fights on the rink. Blair Betts, at 28 years old, has been playing professionally since 2000, when he joined the AHL, Calgary Flames.
Betts started playing hockey even before this, of course. He got his start with the Western Hockey League’s Prince George Cougars, with whom he played from 1996 until being taken by the Calgary Flames in the 1998 NHL draft. Hockey can really take its toll on an athlete, with many wondering if Betts’ health is beginning to suffer as a result of his time in the sport.
Betts scored eight goals and two assists in his first season as a Ranger and since then, he has played mostly on special teams, being widely known for his penalty killing prowess and skill in face-offs.
In his over 300 games played since the 2001-02 season, Blair Betts has scored 27 goals and 18 assists, with the majority of those being since he joined the New York Rangers. The Rangers are suffering as a team this season with their record, and his time out with injuries could be part of the reason, although it seems that the offense of the Rangers could be the primary reason, having difficulty scoring points all year.
Experts blame the Rangers last place position on a lack of confidence and a failure of the players to gel as a team. Whether Blair Betts can do much to help bring the Rangers out of the slump remains to be seen. Other players, and Rangers General Manager, Sather could shoulder much of the blame. Blair Betts has a lot of work cut out for him with this team, and could probably do better on one that would do him justice.
My son had reached the ripe old age of fifteen when he got around to asking me to teach him martial arts. I had twenty years experience at the time. I knew a dozen different types of karate, and didnt know which one to teach him.
We were living Los Angeles, and I thought that Karate would work best for him. I had knowledge of half a dozen karate systems, however. I really didnt know which one was the best.
I began to look at the different systems, and from each I began to select what were, in my mind, the best techniques. After that, I went through the forms and chose the ones that held those techniques. Finally, I made little changes in the forms so that the techniques were all represented.
I taught him for a year, and it was the hardest class I ever taught. Five other guys joined in, they were constantly bruised almost to the point of breaking. To this day, when I see these fellows, there is a look in their eyes like the grin of an eagle.
Karate is designed for self defense. You dont ever want to use it. If you have to use it, however, youd better win, or why did you bother in the first place, eh?
My son was walking to work one day. The sun was bright and shining, and it was a typical Los Angeles day. He didnt have a care in the world as he sauntered down the sidewalk.
You got some change? My son said no to the bum and shook his head, and he saw that there was a second bum. The second bum was disappearing around the corner of the building that Aaron was passing.
Hey, man, gimme some money! The first bum advanced towards my son, who was backing away with his hands up. Suddenly my son felt something flying towards him, and realized that the second bum had circled the building and was jumping off a fence at him!
Aaron twisted quickly and kicked the bum behind him in the chin, and that bum laid down on the sidewalk rather fast. The first bum put his hand on Aarons shoulder and pulled him around as he launched a punch, and Aaron ducked under the punch, locked it in an elbow lock, then started bouncing the bums head between elbow and knee. The other bum got to his feet and came at Aaron once again, and this time Aaron blocked and punched so hard that the bum was launched into a meter pole six feet away, and the pole bent over severely.
It was all over was over, and Aaron looked down at the two muggers in confusion. He looked around, shrugged his shoulders and went on to his work. He had been outweighed and outnumbered, but the art I had taught him, an art constructed of mean and nasty and down dirty techniques, had worked.
Its been years since that fight, and I never taught that system again. Since that time I learned more arts, and I have other things that I prefer to teach. Still, that breakthrough art, which I called Outlaw Karate, was really something.

Foreman returned to boxing with a comeback in 1976. He continued until 1977 when he experienced what seemed to be a near death experience. After losing to Jimmy Young in a difficult 12 round decision in Puerto Rico, he began to feel sick in his dressing room. He was terrified by this sudden illness, and asked God for help. Foreman says God asked him to change his life, prompting Foreman to become a born again Christian. After dedicating his life to Christianity, Foreman remarked that Jimmy Young quite literally beat the devil out of him.
Foreman stopped boxing, even though he never formally retired. He became a church minister, devoting his life to the care of his family and his church members. A youth center bearing Foremans name was opened, and Foreman continues to actively testify about his conversion experience.
After ten years out of the ring, he made a second comeback. In 1988, he announced that he would return to boxing at the age of 38. He wanted to show people that age should not be considered a barrier in regards to achieving goals. During 1988, he won eight fights, although none of his challengers was a rated contender. Just like in any other sport, there is always that desire to have the best sports equipment or accessory. It may be for so many reasons. You may want to show off your best quality wetsuit, or you just want to have the most comfortable wetsuit that can make you do very good in your performance.
Especially if you are choosing a wetsuit for a water sport that require maximum flexibility or if you will be using it for competition like triathlon or swimming, you may want to check its quality and material before deciding to purchase it.
Some of the important things to check when getting a new wetsuit are flexibility of the suit, the comfort it gives and the warmth it provides. Of course, the cost and style would also be considerations after you have examined the more important aspects of the suit. Here are some basic information on wetsuit quality and materials.
Wetsuits are mainly made of a flexible rubber called neoprene, and the material is still classified further in terms of how flexible it is. The different models and brands of wetsuits use these different classes of neoprene, which explains the differences in their qualities and comfort.
The most flexible of all neoprene types is the super stretch neoprene. When it comes to super stretch neoprene, the flexibility of your wetsuit is determined by the percentage of super stretch neoprene it has. A wetsuit could have 30% to a 100% super stretch neoprene.
Of course, the more super stretch material your wetsuit has, the higher is its price, so wetsuits are made in different combinations of materials to suit any budget, flexibility requirement and skill level of the user.
If you are still starting out with your water sport, you may want to settle for some wetsuits that are less expensive and start with a 10% or 30% super stretch wetsuit. The more flexible parts of these suits usually are the portions on the shoulders, the arms and on the back of the knee.
If you have the budget for the most flexible wetsuit available, you can also opt to choose the 100% super stretch wetsuit or settle at a 60% super stretch wetsuit. Of course, the higher the percentage, the more expensive is the wetsuit.
For added comfort, warmth and flexibility, other wetsuits often have other materials incorporated on it. These may include lycra, spandex and Merino wool.
Representing the third generation of “racing Reutimanns”, David Reutimann is the son of DIRT Motorsports Hall of Famer (and still active participant in racing) Emil “Buzzy” Reutimann. The two still often race together at the “Clay by the Bay”, as Florida’s East Bay Raceway Park is known to racing enthusiasts.
David started out in dirt-track and moved up the Slim Jim All Pro Series in 1997 where he was named Rookie of the Year. He later would become NASCAR’s 2004 Craftsman Truck Series Rookie of the Year. While his NASCAR record doesn’t reflect many wins, he has numerous top ten finishes under his belt.
Reutimann won Nashville’s Toyota Tundra 200 in 2005, followed by his first Busch Series car win in 2007’s Sam’s Town 250 in Memphis. In 2007, he ran the whole Busch Series and came in second overall.
Since joining the NASCAR Southeast Series in 1997, Reutimann has been the winner of several awards. He spent a long time preparing on Florida’s many short tracks, where he was an avid modified racer.
Reutimann has been racing for Michael Waltrip Racing for the last several years, competing in both the Sprint Cup Series as well as the Nationwide Series. While he is not yet a household name, he is moving up through the ranks, being known as a solid racer with many top finishes under his belt.
In 2009, there have been some changes in the Michael Waltrip team. The newest addition is Rodney Childers, an old acquaintance of Reutimann’s from the racing circuit. Childers jumped at the chance to be Reutimann’s crew chief on the Number 00 Toyota, saying that he finds Reutimann easy to work with and has a great sense of humor.
Reutimann has been on the scene for some time, but in the last year has really started to come into his own. He and his team are hoping to build on his momentum and score some top 10’s, top 5’s and even some wins this year.
Childers new role as Reutimann’s crew chief may prove to be the winning edge the racer needs. He has four years of experience in Sprint Cup level crew chiefing and Michael Waltrip Racing has established a solid relationship with Toyota, having the necessary commitment to really make waves in NASCAR.
While they may not be the most famous NASCAR names, they are making a run at becoming top in the upcoming year with Michael Waltrip and David Reutimann sharing the wheel of No. 00, Aarons Dream Machine, sponsored by Aaron Rents. This will be Aaron’s tenth year with Michael Waltrip Racing and getting Michael back behind the wheel is something fans have been asking for.
With top 10 finishes in the Nationwide Series and ever better performance in the Sprint Cup, Waltrip racing is excited about David Reutimann’s prospects in the upcoming season.
