There is great enthusiasm for radio controlled model kits. Unfortunately, some of this enthusiasm is a little too unilaterally focused. That is, most people will sing the praises and benefits of radio controlled cars, helicopters, and planes but they do not profess as much enjoyment for radio controlled boats.

This attitude is rather unfortunate since radio controlled boats are really a great deal of fun to operate. There are some unique nuances to the proper operation of a radio controlled boat and learning to navigate these boats with skill really adds to the enjoyment.

Yes, you do need to navigate these boats. Of course if you were to put one of the boats in a swimming pool and move it around slowly, the navigational challenge would be pretty small. However, if you are looking for more fun and challenge, consider launching the boat on a lake, harbor or pond where you will have some rippling action to contend with.

This is because trying to operate the boat properly under somewhat minor rough water adds to the excitement. This, of course, does not mean that you should take a radio controlled boat out on waters that are excessively rough. You do not want the boat flipping over and getting taken out to sea! Then again, it is pretty tough for these boats to flip over considering how well they are designed. But, regardless, you do not want to use bodies of water that are too serene or too rough.

Actually, if you are a novice to radio controlled boats or you are operating a new boat you just purchased; serene waters might be the right environment for you. This will allow you to get the hang of the operation of the boat and build a little experience. Afterwards, you can take the boats out on any body of water you see fit.

When choosing a boat you will have a variety of boats to select from. You will find speedboats, sailboats, military crafts, and oil tankers. No matter what your preferences are you will be able to find a version that has been scaled down and available for purchase.

It is important, however, to point out that different models of boats will handle differently on the water. Speedboats certainly will handle differently than sailboats so one needs to develop a feel for the differences. However, it does not take anything more than a little practice to develop such a feel. The time you spend practicing can be relaxing, rewarding, and a ton of fun. No, there is not a minute wasted when you are out on the shoreline with your model boats. This is, of course, a major reason why they are so very popular.

This is a cost effective hobby as well. It is true that there are some radio controlled boats that are expensive, but there are many that have a reasonable price tag. No matter what your budget is you will be able to find a boat that fits your needs.

All in all if you’re interested in radio controlled boats but are unsure about which model or type is best for you, my recommendation would be to try the RC boats first for sheer fun. Choose one that has a minimal chance of crashing and a reasonable price tag.

A very fast growing hobby in this country is bird watching. You’ll either have to go to where the birds are or try to get them to where you are.

The only thing birds want from you is one thing. That is food. They’re similar to other animals in that they are usually thinking about their next meal. The same could be said for us humans, of course. If you want to experience birding, you either need to go to where they are or get them to come to you. You have to know what they enjoy eating if you would rather have them come to where you are.

Bread is, of course, the food everyone knows attracts birds. There’s a good reason we all think of people feeding birds in the park with bread. Although you can use any type of bread, there are many more possibilities. Muffins broken up into pieces are a favorite of most birds. Even doughnuts or cornbread will attract them effectively.

Believe it or not, peanuts are a favorite of birds. You’ll have to shell the peanuts first, since birds are not able to crack them open because of their size. Even though you like the salted peanuts for yourself, don’t feed them to the birds, please!

You have to prepare the peanuts before putting them out in a way that will work for bird watching. They can’t just go out all together in a pile, because you’ll be let down. The birds would just horde them in a hiding place and you wouldn’t see them very long. Use mesh bags that onions come in, and you can hang them up or tie them onto something. That way, the birds can extract a few at a time, and they’ll stay around.

Following the idea of peanuts, the other great food is peanut butter. The birds will completely love it. They can’t keep away from this bird delicacy. Try to put it in holes on your feeder or just around the feeding area. Fill the holes with peanut butter and enjoy the show. It’ll start very soon.

It’s not easy to attract birds to specific places, but food is certain to draw them. You can use this knowledge to create an ongoing experience of bird watching all year long.

Why should you buy a used electric golf cart?

When deciding on which golf cart to purchase, many buyers should consider whether or not they should buy a new or used electric golf cart. The decision to buy a used electric golf cart could help save a lot of money and there are very little noticeable differences between the two especially if the used golf cart has been properly maintained.

Perhaps the greatest reasons for buying a used electric golf cart is that they are environmentally friendly and also less costly to run when compared to gas golf carts. As electric golf carts are powered by battery, there is no release of pollution from gas fumes. Further, the cost of electricity used to charge a golf cart is much less than purchasing petrol at the gas station due to rising gas prices. This means that in the long term, you will be able to save a lot more money.

Where to find used electric golf carts for sale

The first place that many people start when looking for used electric golf carts is their local dealer. Local dealers should have good information on golf carts and be able to match you up with a golf cart suitable for your needs. You will also get a chance to ask questions and get advice for free. The downside about buying from a dealer is that it will never be as cheap as buying directly from the previous owner because the dealer adds their own profit margin.

Another way to purchase used golf carts is to go to your local golf club or golf clubs in your area to ask if they are willing to sell you their old equipment. Golf clubs usually change their equipment every 2 - 3 years and most the vehicles are still in good condition minus the odd wear and tear. Unfortunately not many golf clubs buy golf cart outright - most of them rent carts from manufacturers.

A better place to buy used electric golf carts is from online auctions. Online auctions such as eBay list hundreds of used golf carts for sale. The advantages of using online auctions is that they allow you to compare many vehicles at once so that ensure you are getting the best deal. However, it is important to make sure the vehicle is in good working condition and does not have extensive wear and tear.

Renowned brands such as Yamaha, Ezgo, Precedent, Jacobsen and Cushman have a great range of used electric golf carts that you can buy online. The prices may be slightly high but quality is uncompromised. You can search among other brands and compare what each has to offer. Make sure that you receive new batteries and a charger with your purchase. Check the golf cart for defects if any and see that the electric motor responds immediately to acceleration and brakes. Look for a golf cart with an engine having at least 48 volts of power. This will give you better performance. Electric golf carts are designed in such a way that they are less noisy than their gas powered counterparts. Do keep this in mind when you consider buying a used electric golf cart.

Let me just start by saying that some may consider this a bold statement about the sport of paintball. Paintball is one of the safest sports as of today although it is classified as an “extreme” sport. It is safe because people are careful and at the same time extreme because of its intensity.

The argument in favor of the reason that paintball games are one of the safest sports is because players take it seriously. Responsibility and accountability should be maintained while playing a good game of painball. Paintball has the potential of being dangerous so the word of the day for you is caution.

The fact that the world of paintball has a huge injury myth has been kept by PSP (Paintball Sports Promotions). This myth only exists in the minds of general public and not in the statistical data. The industry has revealed that the not so common eye injury which has been highly publicized almost always occurs when the proper protective gear in not worn and on fields that are unsupervised and often illegal.

Paintball has the lowest injury rate of any extreme sport. This is supported by statistical data which shows that only .2 injuries per 1,000 exposures ever occur. According to Sporting Goods Manufacturers Association, the average player will suffer an injury about once every 500 years.

Goggles are the number one priority, out of all the gear that is involved in the sport of paintball. The sport of paintball is extremely safe if played on a regulated field. Wearing of goggles is mandatory at all times while playing on the legitimate field. To block accidental discharge of paintballs from guns (markers) in staging areas, use of barrel plugs or barrel socks are also employed by field owners.

If we see an overall picture in comparison to other sports of today like soccer, tennis, and even bowling, paintball stands safer than them. I must mention here that this game is played mostly by girls and guys ages 12 -24. I can’t tell you how much fun I have when I have the chance to get out there inspite my age being 35 years. Age doesn’t matter so much if the player is active enough. I have seen guys as old as 45 enjoying the game thoroughly.

Born in West Baden Springs, Indiana, Larry Joe Bird was raised in the nearby community of French Lick. Even as a youth it was apparent that Bird had an incredible talent of the game of basketball, being the all-time scoring leader at Springs Valley High School. His record in high school won him a basketball scholarship to the University of Indiana.

Coming from a small town, Bird felt a little out of place at the immense campus of the Hoosiers and wanted to drop out right away. Once satisfied with his decision to leave, he took a year off and then enrolled at Indiana State becoming part of their Sycamore team. Here he began to show true promise and in 1979 as a senior, Bird led his team to the NCAA Championship game where they faced the Michigan State Spartans. Another future legend, Magic Johnson, was a Spartan team member and it was at this first game the two would meet, but certainly not the last time these two forwards would play against each other. Indiana finished its year with a 33-1 record giving Larry a place in the school’s history. When he left Indiana State, he left with a 30.3 points per game average and was the fifth-highest scorer in NCAA history-quite the accomplishment for the three-year only player.

In 1979, the Boston Celtics called on Larry Bird as their number one draft pick and he signed with them for a record $650,000 a year. With the Celtics, he averaged 21.3 points per game and earned the title NBA Rookie of the Year. He also dealt up 10.4 rebounds per game, 143 steals and led his team in minutes played at 2,955. He also led the Celtics to a playoff qualifier with 61 wins and 21 losses. Losing to Philadelphia’s 76ers, the fans of Boston loved their number thirty-tree as they had seen some sad times in the early 1970’s-the fans hoped for the return of greatness to Boston and with Bird, they could see their vision coming true.

The following year, the Celtics relocated to the Robert Parrish Center and took on Kevin McHale. Bird and McHale are considered by many to have been the best frontline in NBA history. In the 1980-1981 season, the Celtics made it to the NBA finals, where they defeated the Houston Rockets six times to take the championship. In the 1980’s, the Celtics made it to nearly every NBA final, often facing off against the Lakers.

Celtics coach Bill Fitch gave Bird the nickname Kodak, explaining: it’s for his ability to picture how a play would unfold. He can turn a play into points.”. IN the 1981-1982 season, Bird’s tallies made it into the double digits and the Celtics became even more formidable with the addition of guard Dennis Johnson and new coach KC Jones.

The Celtics took the NBA championship in the 1983-1984 season in a seven game series against the Lakers, with an 111-102 score in the final game. In this series, Bird averaged 14 rebounds and 27 points per game, also taking the MVP awards for the series and for the season. Bird also won the MVP award the next season, even after a loss to the Lakers. Bird and Magic Johnson had a friendly rivalry which fans still talk about.

The Celtics returned to finals once again in the 1985-1986 season; they defeated the Houston Rockets in six games and finished with a 76-15 record for the year. Bird again won the series MVP in this, his third NBA championship victory with an average of 24 points per game, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. This year also saw him winning the league MVP award, the third player to do so. Bird’s Celtics would also come out on top in the finals the next year, beating the Lakers in six games. Bird, like his rival Magic Johnson was becoming synonymous with the game of basketball.

The 1987-88 statistically, was Larry’s biggest season where he averaged 29.9 points per game playing 39 minutes per game with a .527 field goal percentage and a .916 free-throw percentage. After a bone-spur operation, Larry returned to the Celtics for the 1989-90 season but sadly, even Larry knew, it may be time to retire. He joined Magic Johnson and Michael Jordan, among others playing on the 1992 US Olympic Dream Team where they won gold and his place in destiny was set in stone. Throughout his stoic career Larry played 13 years and averaged more than 24 points per game, 10 rebounds, and 6 assists per game. He had a career field goal average of 49.6% and was at an 88.6% on free throws. Perhaps his biggest statistic was his 37.6% three-pointers or perhaps it was his twelve All-Star games-whatever the reason, Larry Bird is synonymous with basketball and will forever be in the hearts of basketball fans

Throughout the pages of history there have been few things so emotionally stirring as the performing arts themselves. There is a passion and intensity expressed in each movement that can purge the mind of all worry and stress. The emotional connection between the performer and the audience is binding.

As the audience we bind our hopes and our fears to the motion of the performance. In the sway of a solemn opera we empathize with those who have hurt, yet in the rush and power of an exciting dance we grip our seats and wish to participate ourselves. Among the performing arts, dance has been the widely respected and endorsed as the capstone of culture.

There is so much that can be expressed in the beauty of a dance. The movement and flow across the floor can illustrate emotional expression in ways untouchable by the depictions in the face. Two dancers together can demonstrate a connection and synchronization unparalleled by any being. Dance is the epitome of human expression and is widely seen as theatrical.

Cultures of the world present who they are through the dance they endorse. In any part of the world you will find that the dance of the nation is a reflection of the people who reside there. It is a beautiful display of pride. I have been to various nations and I have a great love for the dances of South America. They portray an emotional romance that is unparalleled by any. However, I connect the most with the youthful energy and ambition of American dance.

In American dance, the often fast-paced choreography is very energizing. There is a liveliness in group dance performances that has a way of boosting morale and enthusiasm in a way no speaker could ever do. It is a representation of pride in the society, and has every intention of entertaining its audience to the fullest.

With every dancing style there is an appropriate attire to be worn. Since dance is an external expression, it is only fitting that the atmosphere and ambiance be completed by the dress and grooming of the dancers. It sets the mood for the audience.

Formal wear obviously denotes a ballroom setting and a more dignified style, whereas thinner and more dexterous dancewear prepares the audience for a graceful and energetic performance.

If you have never had the experience of being part of the audience for a dance performance, I encourage you to do so. You will find a whole new expression of human feeling when you watch these performing artists.

Fantastic stories exist about the commercial fishing industry in Alaska that is luring prospective job seekers to seek their fortune there. Tales of amazing wages, no living expenses and little to no experience for jobs make the rounds.

Materials are published online and offline that support the claims of high wage jobs on fishing boots and in canneries. There are however usually a number of failures for every single report claiming success in reality.

Any crew member considering a job in commercial fishing in Alaska must carefully assess every job opening, pay close attention to all of the details of any job offer, and research the company for whom they would work. Likewise, it is important to look at any records of crew injuries, success or failures of the company, company records such as history and reputation, and any records of past fatalities including the cause of death.

The best advice that prospective crew members can get is from fellow fishermen who already worked for the company in question. This is usually a better approach of getting information about a company than from published materials. Past or present workers are usually the best source of information when it comes to existing working conditions that a fishing company provides.

Commercial fishing in Alaska moves at full speed during peak harvest season. It is often a requirement for crew members to work on the fishing gear and fishing vessel without additional monetary payment.

Payment is regulated in the work contract. It is usually based upon a daily shared rate that is calculated from the amount of fish that has been caught on that day. Crew members have to make sure that they possess signed work contracts or agreements that clearly outline the job requirements, entitlements and rates of pay.

Likewise, it is important for crew members to retain good records of each days catch and their expected rate of pay on a daily basis.

Commercial fishing in Alaska is conducted with little privacy for the crew on some of the smaller fishing vessels. The crew eats, works, relaxes and sleeps together in tight quarters. Toilet facilities might be exposed or even non existent in some cases at all.

Shows and toilets are available on other vessels for individual use. It is recommended to ask about accommodations before signing a contract on a fishing vessel in Alaska so that the conditions can be considered prior to accepting the job.

Employers tend to have certain criteria in mind when hiring new crew members for commercial fishing in Alaska. They usually seek someone for a designated contract period only.

Physically capable individuals are required that can work long hours, remain standing for extended lengths of times and move heavy objects around.
