I would have never imagined that I would get married outside of the country that I was born and raised in. I had always had the dream of getting married at the park near the house where I grew up.
But that all changed when I met Lisa. She was a lot more adventurous than I, and had great dreams of getting married in Queensland, Mackay in Australia. She had to show me on a map where that was because honestly I had no idea – I had never left North America before.
But after she had shown me some pictures, I knew that it was going to be the place for us to get married. We wanted to have a non-religious wedding ceremony but we just didn’t know how to go about booking a venue or what was required for having a wedding on another continent.
After a bit of hunting online, we were able to find a wedding celebrant that was able to help us find the perfect venue, and we’ll be going there in the new year to get married. I just can’t wait!

When my brother was planning his wedding he really didn’t care so much what the ceremony was going to be like. For him, he was more concerned with marrying the girl he loved instead of having some sort of lavish ceremony.
His wife on the other hand, had different ideas. She always dreamed of a large wedding with custom aisle runners to make their ceremony more unique. She had come up with the idea from a wedding that she had attended last year where a couple had designed their own custom aisle runner instead of using a plain aisle runner.
My brother really couldn’t be bothered with designing one and he left it up to her to get the one she wanted. In fact, after a number of discussions with her he decided that she could be in charge of the wedding preparations provided she stayed within the budget.

Many brides love to give out personalized wedding favors to their guests on their wedding day. Personalized wedding favors are an excellent idea because the couples are able to add their names on the favors and also add their wedding date. This is a crucial factor to make their wedding favors stand out since the guests will easily remember the wedding they attended. Many people like to go for weddings especially women and over years they accumulate many wedding favors. Sadly, some of these favors become indistinguishable because they were not personalized.
Many couples that give out personalized wedding favors will not have to deal with this situation because their guests will only glance at the favor they received and easily remember who gave it to them. As a result this makes the favor more memorable since they will easily remember the fine details of the wedding. In this short article i seek to show those that are planning their weddings the different types of cheap personalized wedding favors other people are using and also give ideas to those people looking for ideas to use for their personalized wedding favors.
When planning to give out personalized wedding favor, i must stress that its important to plan ahead. The reason is that compared to other types of wedding favors that are easily bought off the shelf, personalized wedding favors require special attention. What if the favors have already been manufactured? Well, they still need to undergo further processes to personalize them which means more time is required. A few days might be required for your order to be processed and don’t also forget that the manufacturer might have other pending orders which can further delay yours.
What this means is that waiting for your orders to be processed might take as little as two days but can even take weeks depending largely on the size of your order and how available the manufacturer is at that particular moment. Rush orders are also an option but be prepared to dig dipper into your pockets. Don’t be surprised to find that rush orders will likely cost you double or triple the cost of each favor.
Any wedding favor can be personalized. Printing the names of the bride and groom on candy wrappers, pictures frames, fortune cookies or even candle holders is one of the widely known methods of personalizing wedding favors.
Apart from having the names of the wedding couples plus their wedding date, there are other ways to personalize a wedding favor. A good idea is to have the favors personalized by adding a quote from their favorite song or bible verse.
Favors that are edible are another great option of creating personalized wedding favors. Different kinds of favors that are edible can be personalized.A nice idea that comes to mind are photo cookies.
These types of cookies can be created by bakeries. You only need to send a photo to them and they will handle the rest. You send the photo photo electronically or scan it from their system. The bride and groom can opt to have their images set on the cookies and can include other things such as the wedding date.
Gift wrappings can also be personalized when giving wedding favors. Many favors are usually wrapped in simple white paper. To make the favor more unique and personal, couples can include their names or wedding date. The couple can purchase the ribbons either precut or in one continuous flow. Precut ribbons are more expensive but the good thing is that they save the person doing the wrapping lots of time.

One of my husband’s co-workers married recently. For months leading up to the wedding day, I was completely clueless about what an appropriate gift would be. I wanted something unique that they would truly enjoy; a traditional toaster just wouldn’t cut it. I wanted our gift to really demonstrate how thrilled we were for them.
In my quest, I visited a dozen stores and picked through a ton of toasters, bed sheets, and towels. Nothing seemed to say “unique” or “surprise.” They all said “ordinary.” I gave up and decided to try and find something online. I found some interesting suggestions, a gift basket of chocolates, or a bottle of wine. This grew into an idea of making my own gift, a wine gift basket!
It seemed like the perfect idea. Everyone loves a good bottle of wine, and it sets the right mood for a night of romance! I used a picnic basket and purchased two wine glasses and two bottles of wine. I added a corkscrew and charms for the glasses, when it suddenly occurred to me, “What is wine without cheese?” Into the basket went specialty cheeses and crackers.
It was surprisingly simple to assemble this elegant gift. My husband was very impressed when he saw the basket. He thought I must have spent a small fortune on something so extravagant. He was delighted when I told him this was my own creation. He was ready to finance a gift-basket business of my own! I was very proud of the gift I’d made for our happy couple, and shocked at how simple it was to do.
Since the wedding, my husband and I have become good friends with the couple. They really enjoyed the gift and took it with them on their honeymoon. They plan to use the basket to take their future children on picnics in the park. I knew how much I loved their gift, and I was absolutely thrilled with how well it went over with them.
Now I can’t wait for the next gift-giving occasion to come along! I can’t wait to make more gifts for my family and friends. I haven’t told them about my new love because I want them to be surprised when they get their own baskets. Because they’re completely customizable, they’re perfect for every occasion. I can change them up depending on the recipient. My husband said he wants one for our next anniversary. I’ll have to get creative and include something extra special so he will be truly blown away! Maybe tickets to a show would be a nice addition.

Flowers are an essential part of a wedding. Today?s modern weddings mean lavish flowers that add flair to the whole ceremony. Flowers help to set the atmosphere for the wedding and are quite important. They should be chosen with care.
Flower Ideas
Deciding which ones to go with can be difficult if you are not leaning towards a choice or have a favorite already. If you just do not have a clue, then you need a little help. The internet is a great resource to use when you are looking around. You will be able to view many more arrangements then you ever could browsing around in shops. You will also have access to more types then you would anywhere else. You will be able to find something that you love and that fits into your budget. A simple search should bring up pages and pages of places to browse.
Common choices include lilies and roses. These flowers work for almost any type of wedding at any time of year. They can be simple or lavish. It is easy to create almost any look you want with these classic flowers. Another idea used often is to go with what is in season. For a spring wedding, for instance, sweet peas are an ideal choice. They have a strong smell that will really add something special to your ceremony.
Uses for Flowers
The uses for flowers are endless. There is, of course, the bouquet and centerpieces, but there are so many other ways to use them to add to your ceremony. They can be used as gifts for the wedding party or for those who have helped a lot during the planning and engagement. They can be used to decorate throughout the church or where ever the ceremony will be held. They can also be used to decorate the vehicle the bride and groom will leave in. They are great for adding a touch of sophistication to the event when floating on ponds or in fountains. Besides d?cor, they can be used in the hair of the female bridal party, including the bride.
Flowers add so much to a wedding that a lot of thought needs to go into buying them and using them. It is essential to do research and look for the best prices and deals. You also want to be sure to use a reliable florist who will deliver on time and make sure they are looking good and fresh.

If you have been given the honor of planning a bridal shower, or if you are just looking for ideas for your own shower, plenty of preparation and an equal amount of creativity are the two most important steps you can take for an event to remember.
Planning Around a Theme
Planning a shower and wedding around a theme is becoming very popular. This goes beyond planning around one or two colors. Planning a specific them gives the bride and groom a chance to express themselves in a fun way.
The theme might revolve around the time of year that the shower and wedding are taking place. Besides the four seasons, bridal showers can also be planned around a specific holiday or event, such as a Valentine theme for February brides or maybe a beach theme in the Summer.
Some other bridal shower themes to consider include:
-An English tea party-Fancy tea cups, roses, an assortment of teas, tea sandwiches, and desserts such as scones and tea cakes will make for the perfect tea party themed bridal shower.
- Garden party: An outdoor garden party centered around pretty flowers is ideal for the springtime.
- Hawaiian Luau: Include leis and Hawaiian flowers along with Hawaiian inspired food.
- Las Vegas: For a completely different twist on the usual bridal shower, have a Las Vegas themed event complete with card games, a roulette wheel and dice. Held in the early evening, this is a fun way to combine a bridal shower with a ladies night out.
- Pajama party: Have guests dress in their comfiest pajamas and serve foods such as pizza, popcorn, soda, sandwiches, and plenty of other snacks.
- Spa party: This works best for smaller groups. Pamper everyone and treat them to an afternoon of manicures, pedicures, massages, facials, and lots of relaxation.
The Invitations and Favors
Bridal shower invitations should include the following bits of information:
- Bride’s full name - Date and time - Where the shower is being held - Who is hosting the shower - RSVP date and contact phone number - The theme, if any - Where the couple is registered - Maps and directions, if necessary
Shower favors are the perfect way for the bride-to-be to say thanks for coming and celebrating. Instead of the usual few pieces of candy wrapped in tulle and tied with color coordinated ribbon, take the time to think of something different that your guests will remember the occasion by. For example, if you were having a beach theme you could find little keychains that look starfish or sandals.
Bridal Shower Timeline
- Two months before: Set a budget, decide on the style or theme of the shower, set the date, choose and reserve the location, create a guest list, plan the menu, choose the games, delegate tasks to other members of the bridal party, purchase the invitations.
- One month before: Send the invitations, order the cake, create and organize shopping lists, purchase the decorations and game prizes.
- One week before: Order the food, chairs, linens, and tableware if necessary, purchase the bride’s gift and confirm reservations.
- One day before: Begin decorating, pick up the cake, wrap the bride’s gift and game prizes, prepare street signs if needed, and prepare any food items that can be made in advance.
- The day of the shower: Arrange the food and drinks, finish any decorating, be prepared to record a list of gifts received, and finally, relax and have a good time at the shower!

Photography can be defined as the action of capturing photographs. In simple, yet technical terms, photography is the capturing of light and recording it onto another medium such as film or digital media.
Photography can be beneficial both for financial gain or personal pleasure. Those who do photography as a hobby find that it can be very fulfilling, while those who do it for a living can find that the better their photography is the more financially rewarding it can be.
Photographic technology has been rapidly advancing in recent years. During the film camera era, advances were slow. But in the digital camera era, the advances in technology have been rapid.
While the 35mm film SLR camera was an excellent photography device in the hands of a professional, the modern digital SLR cameras can provide nearly anyone with great photographs. “Once the 35mm film SLR camera was the camera to own but now, there are digital SLR cameras like the Canon Rebel Xti that give the photographer great results with less frustration than their film counterparts” says Minneapolis photographer Bob Dale.
Black-and-white photography, color photography, and digital photography are the three main styles of photography in use today.
Black-and-white photography is also known as monochrome photography. The early photographs and many photographs today are still in black and white. This type of photography continued to dominate for several decades even with the advent of color film, mainly because it was inexpensive and gave photographs that classic look.
Other types of monochrome photography are used for special uses to create artistic views of a subject in various hues of a color. Cyanotype photography is an example of using the monochromatic hues of cyan to create a photograph of cyan and white tones.
By the middle of the 19th century, a strong push was being made to develop color photography. Early color photographs maintained their color for only a brief time. In 1861 James Clerk Maxwell, a physicist, was able to take the first ever color photograph that held its color. However, it took the combined efforts of three cameras with three different lens colors to make the one color photograph.
Color photography became a lot more sustainable with the Autochrome in 1907. Color film didn’t enter the mix until Agfacolor film in 1932. It was 1935 when Kodak introduced the modern color film. Polaroid came out with an ‘instant’ color film in 1963.
Digital photography uses digital technology to capture and create images. Unlike film photography, digital photography does not use photographic film for creating images. Images are instead stored in electronic media, such as a memory card in the camera.
As you can imagine, photography that is done in digital form can be easily saved, manipulated, and shared with digital electronics. Instead of dealing with tedious chemical and image transfer processes, you can simply print your pictures straight from the digital media or from your computer.
Most photography professionals who specialize in portrait photography or wedding photography choose digital SLR cameras. Digital SLR cameras give the photographer the ability to print out quick proof sheets so the customers can quickly pick out which photographs they want to buy.
Most wedding photographers now use digital SLRs in their wedding photography business because these cameras enable them to take pictures of the wedding ceremony discretely, without using flash. At the wedding reception, they can take high quality photos of the bride’s wedding dress, the wedding cake, and wedding guests with a digital SLR that has a zoom lens.
A digital camera is a relatively affordable device. Digital cameras for novices can be purchased without much investment due to decreasing costs of electronic components and increasing market competition. In fact, a small, but very capable digital camera, can be purchased for less than $100 to meet most novice photography needs.
When you find that digital photography is fun, but your camera doesn’t do as much as you want to do, it is time for a digital SLR camera that can deliver professional quality photography. You may even find yourself a digital photography professional before long.

The wedding planner guide is a critical item to have to help ease the anxiety that can occur when planning your wedding day. The bride especially envisions her special day to be perfect, but we all know that things can quickly turn bad when out of the ordinary things happen. There are tremendous amounts of details that every wedding shares-no matter how big or small the ceremony and reception are.
I remember going to a friend’s wedding and the groom had come back to the table and started frantically going through his gift envelopes. He was absolutely livid and unprepared, this being his first and only wedding, when he found out he had to pay tips to the Maitre De, the wait staff and other vendors. He thought this would all be included in the cost of the reception. But instead he had to dip into his honeymoon budget and grease a few palms.
Today’s bride and groom are, for the most part, young and have no experience when they enter into a first marriage. For my friend, it was appalling that he had spent so much money on his wedding reception and it didn’t even include everything. He certainly would have benefited by using a wedding planner guide that told him to get all his contracts in writing and know precisely what is included.
The last thing any bride or groom wants to happen is a disaster on their wedding day. Photographers who omit family members from their pictures or worse yet, they don’t show up at all.
That is why it is critical to stay organized while planning your most cherished day of your life. Think about how disheartening it would make you feel to not have any photographs of your wedding to look back on.
A timeline of what you will need to do is critical in your wedding planning. The further away your date is the better off you will be. A year off is a good place to start your planning. However, if you don’t have that much time you might think about contacting a wedding planner or wedding consultant to help out.
The wedding industry is largely in business to make money, however, you don’t have to go into debt. Determining a budget and opting for date in the future can help you by allowing you the time to save money by going out to eat less often and cooking more meals at home.
Talk to other brides to be and network since everyone loves a good bargain. Sometimes you can negotiate if you have a network of brides in the picture. And stick to your wedding planner guide to help keep you on your time line.

People are generally resigned to having their vital information officially recorded by the government. A great deal of resources is channeled into gathering and managing these records. In the Information Age, it is seen as a required mark of sound democratic governance. This information resource is also not solely reserved for government use only. The public has the right of access to many of the government records too. One example is Public Marriage Records.
When applying for a license to be married, marriage records of both the prospective husband and wife must be produced as proof of their eligibility. When the new wife is seeking a name change, they are required for substantiation. This is important as the name change itself is often a prerequisite to a further purpose such as immigration, adoption, joint tax returns, social security matters, insurance, medical and many other benefits.
Since marriages are under state jurisdiction, they will be no exception. At a basic level, they include name, age, residence, occupation, birth place, time and place of marriage, some particulars of parents, witnesses and the conducting official of the ceremony. A key point fundamental to the purpose of many a marriage record search is previous marriages, if any, will show up.
It is easy and convenient to conduct a online marriage records county search nowadays. Data archive and retrieval are mostly computerized. Whether it’s done on-site or online, it is fast and generally hassle-free. Within minutes, we can gather records on marital status, names, places, dates, filing numbers, history, background and so forth. Input requirement is also minimal. As little as a full name and state of residence will suffice to initiate a search. Having said that, we also know there can be quite a few people with the same name living in the same state. That’s why the more information is input, such as age, date of birth, address and so forth, the more targeted the finding.
There are basically two types of service we can turn to for marriage record search, the free marriage records and the paid providers. Free services tend to be discrete and scattered so it can be quite time-consuming and tedious. Paid versions come at different levels of professionalism. The better rated ones can deliver very comprehensive reports. Over and above public resources, many have access to private and privileged databases.
Conducting marriage records search is often contentious. Except for super-snoops, people have better things to do than prying others’ private lives. It is usually done on those who are more than acquaintance, and ironically with whom we relate with fondness. Inherently, it infringes the expectation of trust. Tussle between the sense and the feelings, there is never an outright correct answer.
