The traditional vision of Supply Chain management represents only one dimension of a business environment that is growing increasingly multidimensional. Modern day Supply Chain Management is the e-commerce of manufacturing. With the emergence of the Internet, customers seek out specific products they want at the prices they're willing to pay.
Modern supply chains focus on the customer. Manufacturers need to precisely gauge what a customer might want, how to package it and where to ship it. There is no such thing as one size fits all. When the customer wants a change, they need to be prepared to shift directions quickly. As a result, business and manufacturing processes need to be just as agile and scalable.
Manufacturers who do not adopt proven methods to succeed today may be out of business tomorrow. The Internet supply chain will be a means of communicating and doing business with suppliers and customers. Fractured, unpredictable supply chains have become less and less tolerable primarily because customers will not absorb the associated costs and long lead times.
It is important to bear in mind that your customer is just a mouse click away from your competitors. Enabled supply chains assist companies to optimize business processes both within and outside the four walls of the enterprise and to more efficiently deliver the new products customers want, when they want them and where they want them. Supply chain has been viewed as an inflexible series of events that somehow managed to get products out the door. It often involved questionable inventory forecasts, rigid manufacturing plans and hypothetical shipping schedules. The Internet has changed all that. It has transformed this old-fashioned process into something closer to an exact science.
An Internet-enabled supply chain helps companies, avoid costly disasters, reduce administrative overhead, reduce unnecessary inventory, decrease the number of hands that touch goods on their way to the end customer, eliminate obsolete business processes, reap cost-cutting and revenue-producing benefits, speed up production and responsiveness to consumers and garner higher profit margins on finished goods Effective integration of an Organizations supply chain can save millions, improve customer service and reduce inventories.
The key to getting optimum value out of automating your supply chain is to make sure you have your internal systems working well before you start extending them out over the Internet. One should envision the business as a whole including its current strategy and where it wants to go. Supply chain strategy is increasingly being integrated with overall corporate strategy. The cost of training people to use new software should not be underestimated. Sending information around the world takes lesser time than it takes to get into someone's mind.
In my job, I've helped a lot of people quit smoking. And I've heard a lot of reasons why smoking is a good thing.
Smoking helps you think, relaxes you, de-stresses you, keeps you from getting upset at your family, tastes good with coffee, tastes really good after a meal. Basically, makes things "better" and makes you feel "better".
I know you don't completely believe these reasons, or why know you should quit smoking. I also know a part of you DOES believe these things, and more.
The obvious and overlooked part is you must have a strong reason to continue smoking or you would have already stopped. By the way, there is no law that says your reason to keep smoking has to make any logical sense. It rarely does.
You've probably already proven your reasons untrue. Smoking might taste better with coffee because the coffee taste on your tongue covers the bad taste of smoking???
Even when you know the reason doesn't make sense, that knowledge doesn't always help you stop. It might just add to your frustration in the struggle to stop. Just one more reason to stop that doesn't out-weigh the craving to continue.
There are two important sides to this. The feeling that smoking will make you feel better and, the feeling you want to feel better than. That's what needs to be changed.
If you're hungry you feel like eating. If you're tired, you feel like sleeping. If you feel bad (stressed, over-burdened, upset, alone, whatever...) you want to feel good. And, whatever your mind has learned feels good, you feel like doing.
This feeling to do something is what you probably call a craving. Many smokers have more than one type of craving going on. The 'after you wake up' craving might feel different than the 'after a meal' craving. The same principles apply.
SO, how do you change these things? I can write on and on about this (and I have on my web site) It will come down to changing the feelings, motivations and beliefs involved.
First, the 'bad feeling' side of things needs to be addressed. If it's too much stress, get it managed, if it's a situation that makes you lonely, do what you can to fix it, or look for help.
Second, the 'looking to feel better' side of things needs to be updated. (it's common that this is about mistaken beliefs, formed when young, that smoking is about being an adult, in control, strong willed, independent, etc...) Of course, a cigarette is only leaf and chemicals wrapped in paper. The good feeling is the emotions your mind has attached to this action. It could just as easily be ice cream or cookies that your mind has attached good feelings with.
And that's the bottom line. The bulk of the quit smoking issue is about behavior modification - changing the way you feel. That's why the success rate of most prescription medication and nicotine replacement (like the patch and nicotine gum) alone is so low. The only current exception is Chantix and even Pfizer, the makers of Chantix, recommend behavior modification go along with the medication.

As a real estate agent, you know that success equals money. The more successful you are, the more money you make, right? For the most part, yes. A successful real estate agent will have those commission checks rolling in. Sure there are dry spells. Real estate is a cyclical business. But the long-term successful agents realize that by doing what they do best, they can weather any type of economic storm and market downturn.
If you got into the real estate industry to make money, join the club. So did your fellow agents. But is that your single motivation for working as a real estate agent? While money, especially making large amounts of money in those hefty commission checks, is enticing, it shouldn't be the sole motivator for your business. If it's all about the money, then that will become crystal clear to your clients and prospects and you will have a hard time developing a lifelong referral business.
So, what's the secret of the top real estate agents' success? It's pretty simple, really. There are two major components to building a successful real estate business.
The first is to have passion for the real estate industry. If you are passionate about real estate it will shine through in everything you do. Your expertise will come naturally because you stay on top of what is happening in your market. You will network with professionals who can help your clients and provide them an all-around excellent experience, from lenders to title companies. You will exude confidence that clients can feel comfortable with.
Lacking passion for the real estate business? It will show. It will show in your lack of knowledge. It will show in your lack of enthusiasm. It will show in every aspect of your dealings with clients and prospects. And in the end, lack of passion will cost you. Because who wants to work with a real estate agent who doesn't care about his own business?
The second component necessary for a real estate agent's success is the true desire to help others. You're working with people who have goals. Goals to buy a home. Goals to sell a home. Goals to build a real estate investment nest egg. Without clients, you can't make a deal. Without a deal, you can't close a transaction. Without a closed transaction, you can't get that lovely commission check.
It boils down to the fact that you have to want to help others achieve those goals. If you don't care about your clients' goals, then you don't really about your clients. And that will lose you clients and certainly not gain you any referrals or additional transactions down the road with the few clients you managed to work with.
Successful agents have their clients come back to them for every real estate transaction. Successful agents get referrals through their client base because of the good word-of-mouth from past clients. Successful agents make each and every client feel like she got the best help possible from a real estate agent who cares.

Coming up with creative daycare activities is often the most difficult things about the childcare business, which is even more true with the broad range of ages you might have. You obviously want to promote some positive result, such as learning, but the activities must also be age appropriate for each child. Most importantly you need to make it fun, or you will surely lose the child's interest.
It is likely that you will participate in some of the activities, but it is also necessary to have some activities ready which can keep them busy for awhile. This will allow you to look after a few of your other important duties. With all this on your mind, it can sometimes seem like you are doing the same daycare activities repeatedly. Here are a few simple activities to mix things up a bit, but still keep things beneficial and fun for the children.
Daycare centers should definitely offer some free play time. This will allow the children to develop their social skills and their creativity. You will also need to set up some daycare activities that are structured. Remember to allow the children to draw and write, but doing this too often might become boring and the children might lose interest.
Choose a Theme
Theme based daycare activities are always fun and popular with the children. Base your activities on any sort of theme you like. The possibilities here are endless. Animals, colors, careers, holiday or seasonal themes are some ideas to get you started. Or just about anything else you can think of. Some activities could be arts or crafts, or maybe a coloring or drawing contest, for example.
Try Acting Out A Story
Another neat idea is to come up with some type of story line and have the children act it out. You come up with the idea, and let the children create the story from there. This really lets them show off their creative side, and children of any age could participate. You could also take it a step further and allow the children to create their own costumes and props. This is a great way add some variety to your daycare activities.
Leave It To Them
If you are out of ideas something else you can try is to just ask the children what it is that they would like to do. Pick one day out of each week to be kid's choice day. After each child suggests an idea you could then take turns until everybody's ideas are presented. Not only will this give the children confidence and a sense of accomplishment, but it is fun as well.
Everyone Helping Out
Sometimes children like to help out adults with regular tasks, so try incorporating some of your daycare activities into the daily chores as well. Doing big people jobs gives them a sense of importance. Something as simple as arranging a book shelf or setting the table is good enough for them. If the child is actively involved and having fun, then it doesn't really matter exactly what the task is.
If you have ever traveled by air you would know that how tough it is to be in good state after the flight and that is especially if you have long haul flight you better be prepared for some harsh realities.
With that said, I would always vouch for the fact that it is better to be prepared than be sorry. There are a few things that you should keep in mind while traveling by air.
Airports nowadays are a mess with additional security measures and checks. So make sure that your reach the airport well in time and that means at least three hours before the international flight departure or at least two hours before if you are taking a domestic flight.
Then if you are carrying a laptop make sure that it is out of the carry on bag as it has to be separately scanned through the security camera. Also make sure that you have no knife or anything pointed in the carry on luggage.
Then comes the seat assignment nowadays all the airlines offer the online check in at least 24 hours before the flight. Take advantage of this facility as this will help you get the best of the best of the seats and you can have the journey in comfort. If you have an infant then make sure that you request for bulkhead seats in advance and also have the bassinet request put in. These are usually done on first come first served basis.
Next comes the meal requirement and that is especially true for people who want to have purely vegetarian or raw diet. You need to put in the request very early. For special dietary requirements you need to put in special request and it depends on the airline whether they will be able to accommodate the request.
In order to take proper rest during the flight make sure that you have a change of clothes and change into something lighter and comfortable as opposed to a business suit. So travel in easy clothes and then change back into formal wear just before the plane lands or after the plane lands. Make sure that to carry an IPod or a something which you can plug into ear. You can tune into airplane radio or TV also but usually they are very boring so it is better to have your own music device.
If you've ever wondered about what a particular person did in the past, you might have thought about doing a background check. After all, doing so can give you full information on anyone's history.
Previously, this had to be done by using a private investigator or detective agency. However, this isn't true anymore. We now have the ability to use the Internet to get all the appropriate information about someone without having to make a call or even leave our desks.
There are many common reasons to run a background check on someone. What if you're thinking about hiring someone, but you want to be sure their job history is accurate? What if a friend or relative has a new date, but you're not so sure about him or her. Background checks will help.
Lots of other people choose to have a background check done on themselves. Why would you do that? You want to make sure all your information is accurate, and correct any errors if they turn up.
Companies have created enormous online databases of information on people's backgrounds and of their public documents. These can be searched, and are able to provide information to everyday users.
Background checks can usually tell you a lot about a person. Some of the things you might get out of a background check include a person's credit rating and report, their criminal background, where they've lived, employment history and marriage history. It's simple to find out all about someone using this kind of search.
You probably won't be surprised by the fact that you have to pay a little bit to run this kind of check. However, if you're not sure you want to sacrifice any money yet, there's one thing you can do beforehand.
To see what kind of information you can get, all you do is bring up your favorite search engine and enter the name of the person you're interested in, as well as where they live. Remember to put the name in quotations and the city name outside them. Now, see what your get.
Unfortunately, many people share a name with someone else, so unless their name really is unique, you may not find anything reliable. It can be hard to get good, in depth information this way. However, sometimes you get lucky, and the process is free.
If you aren't able to find any information using this method, there are other options. Choose a background check provider that has a money back guarantee and you'll be able to be sure you won't have to pay if you can't find what you want.
The other great idea is looking for companies that only charge you once. You'll pay a flat fee for full membership privileges and the ability to do as many searches as you like, rather than paying each time.
Online background checks allow you to feel like a private investigator, but you never leave your home or office. This is a simple way to find out all about anyone at all.
Barcelona has an excellent nightlife, simply reason being that there are lots of foreigners, students, and locals alike. While in Barcelona, you will be able to find every kind of nightclubs, bars, dance clubs, jazz bars and clubs, sports bars, cocktail bars, karaoke bars and pubs. Whatever you're looking for, Barcelona nightlife is bound to have it!
You can start by visiting Baja Beach Club
A nice relaxed night of conversation over a few drinks not your idea of a good time? Then Baja Beach Club, (Passeig Martim, 34) might be more your style. The beach club features topless bartenders, waitresses in bikinis, and more bronzed, half-naked bodies than you can shake a stick at. Follow the hordes of students and tourists to one of the themed bars and dance the night away to sugary-sweet pop music. If you want to make a repeat performance of it, consider trying to get on the VIP list, where you'll be implanted, yes, you heard us right, with a microchip in your forearm which connects to your bank account and lets you just wave your arms, literally, when you want another drink. How this is legal is beyond us, but who knows...it could be the future of clubs.
International Sounds
Ibiza party spot Pacha now has locations in a few other cities, and Barcelona's on Avda. Donctor Maraon certainly lives up to the hype. The huge, stark white disco features the latest in great DJs from Ibiza as well as live music nights, six different bars, a chill-out room and a terrace. The crowd is young and hip, so be sure to break out your best duds to ensure you don't get turned away by the doorman. Entry is steep, at ?15 with a drink, but the amazing sound-system and never-ending beats make it worth the price.
Great live music
Spain isn't well-known for its live music scene, but Razzmatazz (c/Almogvers) is trying to change all that. Not only do they attract top artists like Miss Kitty and Blur, it also brings together the most diverse group of dance fiends you'll see this side of Berlin. It's a huge warehouse space which brings together five different clubs, featuring funk, house and dance music.
Downstairs, check out the latest indie rock at the Razz Club, or head upstairs for techno at The Loft and Lo*Li*Ta. Pop, electro and disco take center stage at The Pop Room and The Rex Room. Grab a taxi to get there, as it's in an industrial part of the city about ten minutes outside the center.
If you love Nip Tuck, you're sure to have very anxiously waited for season 5 of the well liked show. The season was initially to be 22 episodes, but the writers strike got in the way and only the first 14 were shown. However, those 14 were explosive and backed full of new twists, new characters, and lots and lots of sex. It wasn't however all good for the surgeons and their friends.
This season begins with Sean and Christian packing up and moving their practice from Florida to Beverly Hills. As you would expect, theres no absence of need for plastic surgeons in LA, but theres just one little problem for McNamara/Troy. No one has any idea who they are. To combat this, they recruit publicist Fiona McNeil. She wastes no time in getting them a job as technical advisors on a TV show based on, would you believe it, plastic surgeons!
As they work on Hearts n Scalpels, they meet the shows producer and members of its cast, including Aidan Stone. The soap consumes a good amount of time in the beginning episodes of the season. While the self-centered, over the top Aidan is very entertaining, there are times when it often seems a bit too much. It might have been okay if the story didnt follow some of the TV crew off-set, but it does. When the studio executive in charge of the show heads off to see a dominatrix to de-stress, I wasnt sure if the season was moving in the right direction or jumping the shark. Worse still, I wasnt sure if I even cared about these characters. The surgeons and there shenanigans seemed to be designed to shock us, but they didnt help to round out these new characters or move the existing characters forward. While many things happened to the characters, far between did they show any lasting change. Even those who moved on to new relationships, such as Matt and Kimber, still seemed to be the same characters, unmoved by the events in their lives.
That, in fact, is the main issue of season 5, if not the entire show. The characters dont seem to evolve. Christian, in a particular, doesnt really change from the womanizing man he is. He continues to bounce from woman to woman with little regard for them, it seems. While this has been the norm for a few seasons, it seems especially apparent in season 5.
Of course, the celebrity guests kept coming in season 5, including Rosie ODonnell, Jennifer Coolidge, and Jai Rodriguez. In fact, they were sometimes the biggest draw of an episode, and I want to see what big names they pull in for season 6. The season cliffhanger, too, does make me want to watch the next season, if only the premiere, to see how certain storylines are resolved. Overall, while it was a disappointment, Nip/Tuck is still an interesting show to watch. However, there are only eight episodes scheduled for 2009 (the rest of season 5), so dont expect much development for the next year.
