Sow a thought... reap a destiny

It's the one great certainty facing us all... but it's also the one great taboo topic of conversation in the pub or at the dinner party. Yet, whether we like it or not the recent death of our Queen may well have reminded us of our own mortality. But even if your attitude is one of denial or even dread, it doesn't have to be. The terror of death can be removed completely by having your everlasting future settled now. And here's how...

Sow a THOUGHT... Reap an ACTION

It's been said that the way we think determines the way we feel. And the way we feel affects the way we behave. So our thoughts can have a lot to answer for! But if we're really honest with ourselves we'd have to admit that much of our 'inner life' is selfish and self-serving. So it's against this backdrop that the One who made us says...

'...be made new in the attitude of your minds...'

Ephesians 4:23

Of course this can be possible only through taking up the offer of His special help...

Sow an ACTION... Reap a HABIT

Most of us believe that our thoughts belong within our private world.. which is just that... private! And although we may be convinced that no-one knows what's going on in our hearts and minds, our Maker does. And it's those secret things of our inner self which give rise to what we say and do. Over time many of our actions will develop into habits, both good and not so good, and one day we'll be called to give account for them all...

'...people are destined to die once and after that to face judgment..'

Hebrews 9:27

Sow a HABIT... Reap a LIFESTYLE

Yes, many of our habits are good. After all, much of our daily routine needs to follow a regular pattern. The danger arises when we begin to believe that our own efforts to live a decent life will 'put us right' with our Maker. But in the sight of a holy God we all fail...

'...all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God...'

Romans 3:23

Sow a LIFESTYLE... Reap a CHARACTER

We're all a product of 'nature' and 'nurture' but we also have a yearning for more than just the things of this world. That's because we're all made to know and enjoy a personal relationship with God. Yet because of the 'wrong' in our lives we need to seek His forgiveness, asking the risen Christ Jesus into our lives to become our Saviour and Lord. And in helping us turn from all we know to be wrong He also gives us a brand new start...

'...if anyone is in Christ they are a new creation; the old has gone,

the new has come!'

2 Corinthians 5:17

And with His Spirit at work within us we'll see a difference in our lifestyle... and character...

Sow a CHARACTER... Reap a DESTINY

Character development is largely the result of how we handle the influences, temptations and opportunities which come our way. But at the end of the day it won't really matter how good a life we think we've lived. Our everlasting future will be determined by how we've responded to this, the greatest act of sacrificial love the world has ever known...

'...God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes

in him shall not perish but have eternal life.'

John 3:16

So, do please think about this... act upon it... and your everlasting destiny will be secure.
